Day 30 of an album a day. It’s time for more AC/DC! Woohoo! The album ‘74 Jailbreak was not from 1974, nor were any of the songs written in 1974. This was a compilation album of previously unreleased songs from AC/DC in North America. “Jailbreak” was originally released on the “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” album in Australia but was excluded from the North American release. So ‘74 Jailbreak, released in 1984, was the record company’s way of getting it into our market. There are only 5 songs on the album including a cover of the old blues classic “Baby, Please Don’t Go” originally released by Big Joe Williams on Halloween, 1935. The other songs are all AC/DC originals not found on any other North American releases. With all the respect in the world to the great Brian Johnson, the Bon Scott version of AC/DC was so much better to me.
