Day 36: April Wine - On Record

Artist: April Wine
Album: On Record
Released: 1972
Genre: Classic Rock
Day 36 of an album a day. Tanya didn’t want a break and I have to do the write up anyway, so here we are. Another April Wine classic. “On Record” was April Wine’s 2nd studio album released in April of 1972. Hits included “You could have been a lady,” “Drop your guns,” and “Bad side of the moon.” A lot of other great songs on this release as well, incuding my favourite “Refuge.” A pleasure to listen to from start to finish. This was the first album with Jim Clench on bass and the last with any of the Henmans. In December of 2025 Jim Henman and his cousins David and Ritchie Henman (76, 77, and 78 years old), all original founding members of April Wine, reunited to record and release a new song called “She’s So Cool.” They stated had Myles Goodwin still been alive they would have invited him to join in on the project.
