Day 38: An Album A Day - Ugh-ograph (sorry, its not great)

Artist: Autograph
Album: Loud and Clear
Released: 1987
Genre: Hair Band Rock
I don’t know exactly why but there are just some bands from the 80s I don’t care to listen to much anymore. Autograph is one of those bands. Loud and Clear was Autograph’s third album released in March of 1987 to little fanfare. It peaked at #108 on the US Billboard top 200, which is a generous placing given the mediocrity of this release. It's so forgettable, Apple excludes it from Autograph's album listing on Apple Music.
There are 10 tracks on this album, including the obligatory 80s hair band ballad track "Every Time I Dream." There's a tinge of Def Leppard in some tracks. One could argue there are no bad songs if you’re into this sound (and I was in the 80s) but, after listening to The Atomic Bitchwax yesterday, the contrast between great music and mediocre music is evident.
I shouldn’t be so harsh. Steve Lynch’s guitar work is stellar and the harmonies are great. I’m just over this glam rock style and would rather get on with better listening. It was all downhill for Autograph after “Turn Up The Radio.”
