A long time ago, in a prairie world far far away, a teenager in a green chevy truck introduced me to a sound I would never forget. I was in awe! The words wouldn't come to me until much later in life. I lacked the vocabulary. With AC/DC, it's still hard to find the words to describe why one never tires of this sound. They are largely the soundtrack of my life and the centre of the Venn diagram of all the music I love.

Powerage was released in May, 1978 and was AC/DC's 5th studio album. Cliff Williams replaced Mark Evans on Bass and a refined groove was evident. Some cite this album as the pinnacle of the Bon Scott era. There were different mixes between the UK/European and North American releases including the omission of "Rock and Roll Damnation" on the UK release. What a sin! It was also the last album produced by Harry Vanda and George Young, the elder of brother of band members Angus and Malcolm.

While this album comes in as my second favourite studio release behind "Highway to Hell," its easily a top choice among band fans and mentioned as a fan favourite of Keith Richards, Eddie Van Halen, and Joe Perry. Every track is a hit with 'Gimme a Bullet', 'Rock and Roll Damnation', 'Gone Shootin', and 'Riff Raff' as my favourites. This album is one for the ages. It was great to pull it off the shelf and give it another spin!
