Day 44: An Album A Day - Aerosmith Rocks

Artist: Aerosmith
Album: Rocks
Released: 1976
Genre: Classic Rock
Another classic from the band that made me want to be a rock and roll star. Since I was 13, Aerosmith was the epitome of cool to me. I wanted every release they made and even resorted to ordering cassettes from the Chinook Regional Library in my hometown to hear them all.
I never picked up a copy of Rocks until after high school. My wife made a comment on all my older albums having a "Tramps" price tag on the cover. I purchased this album from the Tramps used record store at the Grosvenor Mall on 8th Street in Saskatoon. It's still in great shape despite the regular play at parties throughout the 80s. Tramps was the destination for all my vinyl purchases in the early 80's. Sadly, the last Tramps in Saskatoon shut down in 2017.
While "Rocks" produced only one well know song with Back in the Saddle, the entire album is full of great songs from the best that '70s rock offered. As with so many of these older albums, the memories of parties and cruising the prairie countryside come rushing back as soon as the needle hits the vinyl. The best part is playing these albums with my wife, who is discovering all the back tracks of classic rock and enjoying the ride. I hope you do to!
