Day 9 of an album a day and whoo boy do I have a hum-dinger (and a mouthful) for you. The name of the band is Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell and the album is “Keep it Greasy.” Released in 2016, this album sounds more like it was released in the late 60s or early 70s. It’s a bit psychedelic and a bit hendrixy! They call it proto-metal. My late great friend and record store owner for many decades, Dave Kuzenko, recommended it to me. We used to talk music for hours and he knew what I loved so I always trusted him when he recommended something I never heard of before. If you like late 60s/early 70s British Hard rock that sounds a little like Hendrix, Sabbath, Cream, Mountain mixed with a little Motörhead, you’ll enjoy a little Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell.FYI, their name is taking from a 17th century British naval admiral that was killed in action in the Mediterranean. Look it up if you’re interested.
